AN EXHILARATING SUNDAY WITH ACTION PACKED MOTOCROSS

Last Sunday, 7th March 2021, the Gozo Motocross Association organised the Quarter Finals of the Gozo Motocross Championship 2021 - fuelled by Enemed at the Ta' Xhajma Motocross Racetrack in Gozo.


As we approach the final stages of the championship, riders fought hard in each race to gain the necessary points to progress further in the championship.


Here's a recap of the day.


In Class A, Steve Xuereb took maximum points of the day, placing first on all three heats. Maltese rider David Dimech finished in second place while Mario Cauchi, struggling in some race, finished in third.





Jorn Stellini has regained his first place in Class B after a head-to-head race with rider Robert Spiteri. Maltese rider Biuren Grima joined the two Gozitan rider on the day and showed impeccable skills, finishing in second place with Spiteri in third.


In Class C, Maltese rider William Sant joined the action, finishing in first place closely followed by class runner -up Mark Camilleri. Class leader Jurgen Attard took third place followed by Anthony Fenech and Steve Cassar.




Rider Luke Caruana, once again took first place in Class D followed by young Maltese rider Aiden Galea in second place and Chris T. Mizzi in third place.



During the day, 5 junior riders, aged between 5 and 11, bravely rode out three heats of the entire motocross circuit. The young riders gave an outstanding performance on the track, determined to improve their skills.

GMA President Frank Xuereb presented them with a momentum each, encouraging them to love the sport of motocross.


Director of JD cycles Jason Portelli, presented trophies to all winners.


Meanwhile the championship will move forward on the 11th April with another set of racing in the Semi-Finals.
