40 YEARS OF MOTOCROSS IN GOZO

This year the Gozo Motocross Association proudly celebrates 40 years of motocross in Gozo — four decades of passion, dedication and motorsport history.

What began in the 1980s as a small group of enthusiasts organising informal off-road races gradually grew into a strong sporting community. Over the years, the association played a key role in developing motocross on the island and giving local riders the opportunity to train and compete.

A major milestone came in 1986 with the inauguration of the Ta’ Xħajma Motocross Track, Gozo’s first and only dedicated motocross circuit. Since then, the track has hosted countless races and championships, becoming the heart of motocross in Gozo.

Throughout the years, the association has organised Gozo Motocross Championships, enduro events, night races, and other competitions, helping the sport grow and attracting riders and spectators alike.

As we celebrate 40 years of the Gozo Motocross Association, we honour the riders, volunteers, supporters and committee members who helped build this legacy.
