Gozo Motocross Association Successfully Concludes Training Camp in Sicily
The Gozo Motocross Association has successfully concluded a four-day motocross training camp in Sicily, bringing together riders from its Junior Academy, families and supporters for an experience combining sporting development, teamwork and international exposure.

Organised under the theme Training Without Borders, the initiative formed part of the Association’s continued commitment to developing motocross in Gozo, particularly among younger generations, by providing riders with opportunities to enhance their skills and gain valuable experience on international circuits.
The Sicilian adventure began with great enthusiasm as riders, accompanied by their families, mechanics and the Association’s support team, travelled from Gozo with their motorcycles and equipment, ready to embrace new challenges and experience different riding environments.

The highlights of the trip were training session at MC Planet Mellili in Contrada Bagali and MX Play Park in Agnone Bagni, where riders had the opportunity to experience a new motocross circuit and further develop their riding abilities. The Association expressed its appreciation to the circuit’s management for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to the Gozitan contingent.
Behind the scenes, the training camp was a collective effort, with mechanics working tirelessly to maintain the motorcycles, while families and volunteers provided essential logistical and organisational support throughout the experience.
Despite the enthusiasm and careful planning, adverse weather conditions, including heavy rainfall, prevented a scheduled training session at Crossodromo Maddalena Valley. Nevertheless, the group made the most of the unexpected change in programme, enjoying time together and further strengthening the friendships that make the motocross community so special.
The adventure concluded with a final training session at Crossodromo S.M. Moto Park, bringing the four-day experience to a memorable close before the group embarked on its journey back to Gozo.
Beyond the technical aspects of motocross, the training camp offered young riders an opportunity to develop confidence, discipline, perseverance and teamwork. Exposure to different circuits and riding conditions is an important part of their sporting development, helping them broaden their experience and prepare for future challenges.
The initiative also highlighted the strong sense of community within the Gozo Motocross Association, where riders, parents, mechanics and volunteers work together towards a shared passion for the sport.
The training camp was made possible with the support of the Ministry for Gozo, under the leadership of Minister Hon. Clint Camilleri.
The Gozo Motocross Association expressed its sincere appreciation for this support, which continues to play an important role in creating opportunities for young Gozitan athletes to gain valuable experience beyond Malta’s shores.
As the Gozo Motocross Association celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2026, initiatives such as Training Without Borders reflect four decades of dedication to promoting motocross, nurturing young talent and strengthening sporting connections beyond Gozo.
The Association extended its gratitude to the Ministry for Gozo, Hon. Clint Camilleri, the management teams of the hosting circuits, participating riders, families, mechanics, volunteers and everyone who contributed towards making the Sicilian training camp a success.
With another memorable international experience behind them, the Gozo Motocross Association remains committed to investing in the next generation of riders, promoting the values of sportsmanship and teamwork, and creating further opportunities for Gozitan motocross enthusiasts to develop their talents on an international level.
